Things to do this Month On-The-Edge June 2022

Rediscover Your Roots

Greater Parkland Regional Chamber of Commerce

All summer long, your go-to resource is the Greater Parkland Regional Chamber of Commerce! You can find events, community updates, and so much more for Spruce Grove and Stony Plain.

The GPRC aims to provide comprehensive information to all of our visitors! Whether it’s your first time here or you’re returning for another visit, our chamber is here to help.

Pop into our Visitor Centre for helpful ideas on outings to add to your stay. From dining, recreation, shopping, and more, our VIC team is happy to help you plan an incredible stay On-The-Edge.

Spruce Grove Grain Elevator Museum

Go back in time at the Spruce Grove Grain Elevator Museum! This museum has preserved a number of artifacts from Alberta’s history, including grain elevators! You can visit any day for a personal peruse, take a tour, or check out some of their upcoming events.

On June 17th and 18th, you can head down for a Craft Beer Night hosted by the museum! Tickets are $25 per person which includes a drink of choice! This event proudly supports the Spruce Grove & District Agricultural Society which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year!

A truly incredible accomplishment for an incredible organization. We can’t wait to share it with you!

Pioneer Museum and Tea House

The Pioneer Museum and Tea House in Stony Plain is a calming reminder of old times! Take a peaceful stroll through the grounds, enjoy artifacts from our past, and spend time with family and friends!

On Fridays and Saturdays, the Pioneer Museum Tea House serves delicious, homemade lunches, desserts, and soups, as well as a variety of tasty teas. A staple of our community, we invite you to share a warm cup of tea with our community.

Our tea house is completely run by volunteers and is our biggest internal fundraiser which helps provide money to run the operations and programs of our museum.

This summer, the museum is planning a swath of exciting events worth attending. Keep your eyes open for calendar updates!

Fun in the Sun

Summer Sessions

Starting June 15th, you’ll want to head down to the annual Summer Sessions!

Admission is free and there will be shows every Wednesday in Heritage Park on the Blueberry Stage. This event runs until August 3rd and features great artists like Eric Kane with Cassie Cameron, Brasstactics, and more!

Gates open at 5:30 pm. Every performance has an opening act at 6:30 pm and a featured artist at 7:00 pm.

You’re welcome to bring your own picnic to enjoy, but there’s delicious food and beverages on site! Grab a picnic table or bring your camping chairs with your friends and family to enjoy the sounds of summer through incredible Canadian talent.

If you’re around town this month, you have to try out the Passport for Prizes initiative in Stony Plain, too. Running from June 17th to 25th, Passport for Prizes is a scavenger hunt where you collect stamps from local participating businesses for a chance to win prizes!

It’s free to participate and you can pick up a passport at any participating store!
